This website is going to document the dialects of the Lari language by focusing on the grammar of Lari as well as providing practical methods in teaching Lari to children. As an Iranian endangered language, Lari has no writing system, nor it’s taught at schools in Iran. Thus, children have to learn Persian (Farsi) which is the official language of education in the country. Moreover, there is negative attitude towards the Language and parents are not willing to teach Lari to their children. Due to this there is a pressing need in bringing back the boundless zest of Lari teaching to parents in Lar.
The main body of information found here comes from the analyses conducted in ‘A Reference Grammar of Aheli: A dialect of Lari Language, Iran’, which is a PhD thesis paper written by MuhammEd Ourang. The thesis is written at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney and includes discussions on grammatical descriptions of the language.
Here in each page of the website, background to the language, phonological, morphological and syntactical analyses are discussed. Also previous works on the Lari language dialects are reviewed and employed for a better understanding of the linguistic feature of Lari.
