I am MuhammEd Ourang and my nickname is Sultan; that’s why I am MSO!
I’m a native speaker of Lari (Aheli dialect) from Ahel, Lar, Iran.
I have completed my PhD thesis which is titled ‘A Reference Grammar of the Lari Language (Aheli dialect)’ at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia. I started my doctorate journey on September 2016 at the Department of Linguistics at the Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences (FASS) where I was a full-time Higher Degree Researcher (HDR) under the supervision of Dr. Efrosini Deligianni and Dr. Mengistu Amberber.
You can find me on the UNSW HDR page by clicking here.
The following YouTube clip is a brief episode of my presentation on Lari as an Iranian language that was recorded by UNSWTV at the final stage of Three Minute Thesis Competition (3MT) at UNSW, Sydney, Australia in August 2019.
This event was a significant moment to increase awareness of the status quo of Lari among audiences in Australia.
Within the Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences (FASS), my lecture was awarded the runner-up prize (second best presentation) among presenters from all seven schools and centres within FASS.
